How long does it take to get a response?
I value prompt communication, and you usually will hear back from me the same day, possibly the next.
How do your deposits work?
The deposit is $150 for larger custom designs and $50 for very small work that does not require much custom drawing. The deposit goes towards the final cost of the tattoo. Your appointment will be reserved on the schedule once the deposit is received.
What payments do you accept?
I accept Cash, Venmo, Zelle, and CashApp.
Venmo: @lynseyblack
CashApp: $blackcherryink
Contact me for Zelle payments
What are your rates?
My rate is $150 per hour. One hour minimum.
A small tattoo still requires the same amount of supplies and set-up. Additionally, they are usually script or fine lines, which, if you are looking for a clean tattoo, still require a steady, skilled hand for great lines and a crisp outcome.
My rate will be $170 per hour starting June 1, 2024.
Will I see my design beforehand?
I will send your design in outline form the night before. If you would like to review your design earlier, when it is complete (which sometimes is not until the day or two before, depending on my drawing load), you may book an in-person consult if my schedule allows. Please IG or text and do not book directly for this on the website.
What happens during a consult?
We discuss the elements of your tattoo, and I take a contact paper tracing of the area to fit the design directly to your body. They take about 20 minutes.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Exfoliate and hydrate the area as often as possible a week before your appointment and definitely the day of. Shave the area the morning before your appointment.
Bring water and snacks.
Bring earbuds, iPads, etc., if you like to keep you entertained for longer appointments.
Wear comfortable clothing that will easily expose the tattoo area.
I keep my studio warm.
Feel free to bring your favorite pillow or blanket.
What is your cancellation policy?
Deposits are taken to ensure against and compensate artists for lost work days for no shows, cancellations, and late reschedules. If you put down a deposit, make sure you are available the day you are scheduling, and can mentally and financially commit. A deposit is never refunded. A cancelled appointment will not receive a deposit refund. A rescheduled appointment can roll over their deposit to the new appointment as long as you are rescheduling at least TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE OF YOUR APPOINTMENT. If you reschedule less than two weeks out, a new deposit will be required and the first deposit is forfeited. At the artists discretion, if they are able to re-book your spot with a comparable appointment, a deposit roll-over may be granted and the artist will let you know if this occurs. Any reschedules with LESS THAN 72 HOURS (3 full days) NOTICE WILL REQUIRE A NEW DEPOSIT, and the first deposit is forfeited regardless of circumstance.
What is the quality of inks and products you use?
I use the highest professional-grade inks, which are vegan. I use tattoo balms and liquid cleaners, which are organic, vegan, and the highest quality with skin healing and nourishing properties. I invest in these supplies to provide the most top-quality service to my clients.
Can I use numbing cream?
Not the kind that is applied an hour before your appointment. Numbing cream ‘hardens’ the skin and makes it more difficult for ink to go in especially color. Some numbing products contain an ingredient that can cause the tattoo to heal poorly.
During your session, I use Bactine, when possible, which contains a numbing agent to help take the edge off.
I also have a tattooing glide I use for some sessions on very difficult areas that is constantly applied to help numb.
Can I bring a friend or family member to my appointment?
Yes. Please limit to two people unless more of those people are getting a tattoo that day as well.
How do I take care of my new tattoo?
I apply a Second Skin bandage, which is a breathable, clear, flexible medical grade bandage that is left on for 6 days, reducing your aftercare routine during this time and dramatically improving and speeding the healing process. Once again, I always do the best for my clients!

How does drinking alcohol before or after my appointment affect me?
Do not drink alcohol at least the day before your appointment. Alcohol thins the blood, leads to excessive bleeding, reduces your body’s healing, and makes for longer healing.
After your appointment, go ahead and have a drink with friends if you like, but limit it to one! Avoiding alcohol is the best policy.
